What Is Internal Medicine? An internal medicine specialist can provide advanced care when you and your pet’s primary veterinarian determine that more comprehensive diagnostic testing, therapeutic treatments, or a second opinion is needed. Our internists possess in-depth knowledge of a wide range of internal conditions, including disorders of the gastrointestinal system, kidneys, bladder, endocrine system, liver, respiratory system, heart, and lungs. Accurate interpretation of these results is critical in developing a targeted and effective treatment plan for your pet. Dr. Siu is truly one of a kind and I cannot recommend him enough! I could tell how much he cares during our first appointment with him. Dr. Siu asked so many questions about my dog, and was truly interested in helping her. I did not feel rushed as I have at other vet offices, I felt like I could sit there and talk to him for hours if needed because he cares that much. My dog is a very complex case with an extensive medical history and that’s why I needed to see an internal medicine specialist. I’m so happy that I chose to see Dr. Siu because he is the most knowledgeable veterinarian that I’ve encountered and I’ve encountered many. The ultrasound that he did revealed abnormalities that other veterinarians have missed and we are getting closer to a diagnosis for my girl. We still have to do a few more tests, but I’m confident in Dr. Siu’s ability and know that he will figure out what’s wrong soon enough. Epic and us pet parents are lucky to have Dr. Siu!
